Maserati Quattroporte 1

  • Together with the Mistral the Quattroporte 1 was first shown at the Torino Autosalon 1963. It was a sporty 4 door saloon with a new 8 cylinder engine, which was developed from the 450S racing car. The front and rear suspension and the drivetrain were from the 6 cylinder models. The design was by Pietro Frua. Early cars had a DeDion rear suspension, later cars had the Salisbury axle from England. In total 780 cars were built.
