The Alfa 1900 was the first entirely new construction of Alfa Romeo after the second world war. It had no technical relavation to the 6c modells. The 1900 had a self-supporting body, not a chassis like the 6c models. The car had its debut in autumn of 1950 as a four door saloon, shortly later the Coupe was introduced with a Touring body. Many different Coupe and Cabriolet versions from well known coachbuilders like Zagato, Vignale, Ghia, Pininfarina, Worblaufen, Boano, Castagna, Frua and Colli were built.
