In October 1971 Ferrari launched the last evolution of the Dino 246GT, the E-series. Until July 1974 3061 cars were produced, of which 1779 Coupes were. The other modellls were GTS. The first GTS has the chassisnumber 3408. Technically the biggest difference was the new gearbox. For the first time a US versions was offered, During production many extras were offered like Campagnolo wheels, airco an flares on the fenders.
