The Alfa Romeo of the 2600 ( 106 ) series had a completly new constructed 6 cyl. inline engine, made of aluminium like the Giulietta modells. The tecnical unit was the same which was used in the 2000 ( 102 ) series. The 2600 Sprint had only some minor modifications, but it was with the new engine a much better car and could compete against the Lancia Flaminia and the Fiat 2300. 6402 lhd and 597 rhd cars were built.
